nyc's newest neighborhood.

|via|
It's good to see that in the wake of the horrifying storm that was Sandy last week some New Yorkers are able to find a touch of humor in the situation. Seeing the photos of hundreds of marathon runners heading to Staten Island today to help clean up, getting emails from my favorite restaurants in my old neighborhood that were giving out free food to those without power and chatting with friends who were housing everyone that could fit in their teeny tiny (but with power!) apartments all week reminded me if there was ever a city that can recover from a tragedy, it is most certainly my beloved New York. I love you New York, and I can't wait to visit you soon! If you want to help with Sandy relief efforts, you can donate to the American Red Cross here.

paris vs. new york, the video.

This video is composed of pages from the book Paris vs. New York, a tally of two cities. It gave me a touch of the "missing new york"s, strangely because of the STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS, PLEASE. Ah, the sweet sound of the subway conductor. The touch of Sinatra didn't hurt either. I own this book, and it's a frequent conversation starter at my apartment because the imagery is just so charming. Watch & enjoy! Check out more images from the blog here.

The City That Never Sleeps.

Love this. Reminds me of my dear roommate, Sarah Grace Ahn Shazbomb Muffins Charles Raymond.

Closet full of clothes, Nothing to wear.

Living in our "loft" apartment in New York City that we were somehow able to craft into a 3 bedroom apartment(luckily with a friend studying architecture and a "wall" building company), the 2 other lovely ladies I reside with and I are lucky enough to have 2 closets each (one for shoes, one for clothes, naturally). Unfortunately these closets are baby sized nonetheless and therefore I am left to fantasize about the closet I will probably never have...In a perfect world I would have Cher's digital closet from Clueless, but these might be a little more attainable one day.. fingers crossed.
